This is considered an important publication in our field with regards to the individual human rights of clients to make choices and be a part of the decisions that shape their lives, even when we as onlookers may have doubts as to the benefits of those decisions.

Answer the following questions:

1] Indicate how the standards in item 2.0 and 3.0 apply to the right of those with disabilities to vote.

3] Develop a 2 brief paragraphs illustrating arguments in favor of and against voting rights for individuals with intellectual disabilities using the arguments in Bannerman, Sheldon, Sherman and Harchik (1990) as a guide.

2] Develop an introductory "script" (actual words you would say, not just statements of what you would do) that could clarify your role (e.g., "My name is ...) and personal opinion on the issue if you were presented with a client who wished to vote but was facing opposition from caregivers.
