• Are leaders born (they possess certain traits that make them effective leaders) or made (if they develop the right skills they will be effective)? The traits approach says that leaders are born and gifted with certain qualities that make them effective leaders. The skills approach argues that leaders can be taught to develop certain skills which will make them more effective leaders.
