Prepare a Quality Management Plan for your selected project to include the following:
- Overview and Purpose: The purpose of the Project Quality Management Plan is to ensure that the project will satisfy the needs for which it was undertaken. It summarizes quality targets for the overall project listing how you will measure if the quality targets or metric has been met. You can use a separate Quality Metrics table to enter the detailed metrics for each deliverable. It involves three main processes namely Plan quality management, perform quality assurance, and perform quality control.
- Quality Management Plan: Quality Planning is the process of determining what quality standards and requirements are relevant to the project and how to satisfy them. It includes what measures of quality will be used and what criteria will be used to determine if project quality is satisfied. A quality management plan documents quality standards, quality processes and quality control activities for the project. Document any industry or product quality standards that apply to your project. For example, International Organization Standardization (ISO), World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). It also includes the roles and responsibilities that are needed to manage quality on the project, and any quality tools. State at least one project standard item and two quality tools you could have for your project.
- Quality Assurance: The quality assurance process focuses on project processes. It ensures that there are adequate processes to deliver a quality product that complies with its requirements on its first delivery and the processes are consistently followed. State minimum two quality assurance related activities for your project.
- Quality Control: The quality control process focuses on project deliverables. Quality control is about evaluating the quality of project deliverables to ensure that they comply with the relevant quality standards and identifying ways to improve overall quality. It focuses on finding defects in deliverables and verifying that the standards/requirements are met. State minimum two quality control related activities for your project.
