Commitments

Lydia is a full-time student at the Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences. She wants to get her degree as soon as possible so that she can get the job she wants to have and get paid more money.

When she is not in school, Lydia works as a CNA at the local hospital. She thought this would be a great idea because her employer gives her tuition reimbursement, and she can also get some useful experience. She wanted to work part-time, but the hospital really needs her, so she works full-time. She also hoped to only work on weekends, but the hospital needs her most overnight during the week.

Lydia also comes from a very tight-knit family. Her grandpa lives with her family, and both of her parent's work, so sometimes Lydia is in charge of taking her grandpa to his doctor's appointments.

Physical Wellness

Since starting school and work, Lydia often feels sluggish, but she seems unable to sleep at night. She seems to constantly be a little bit sick--- a stuffy nose and sore throat are a daily occurrence for her. She also often has body aches.

Food

Lydia drinks coffee and soda and eats candy throughout the day for "energy." Because she is so busy, she eats mostly convenience foods that are quick and easy, and cheap: microwave mac & cheese, ramen, bagels, cereal bars, yogurt, cereal, sandwiches, and snack foods.

Time Management

Her school responsibilities cause a lot of stress and anxiety, so Lydia chooses not to do work to feel better. She would much rather binge-watch a show on Netflix than study math.

Outside of work and actual class time, Lydia has no set schedule. She feels she will complete her work in her "free time" or whenever she's done binge-watching tv and catching up on social media. This often means she is up very late doing homework or trying to complete schoolwork at the hospital where she works.

On the morning of the next test, Lydia arrives feeling more confident than she did last time. When the tests are distributed, she looks it over and a feeling of panic strikes her again. She doesn't know how to do these problems. She doesn't remember anything from her notes!
