Twila is a pregnant African-American woman who has applied to a hotel for jobs as a maintenance worker. During the interview made by the manager of this department, it was highlighted that Twila worked for 5 years in similar positions, her quality of work and the high commitment she has had with the companies she has previously worked for. It has also come out that Twila is 8 weeks pregnant. The work of a maintenance housekeeper requires physical effort, bending over, performing footwork all the time and the use of chemicals.

The manager has decided not to hire Twila, because she thinks that it is better for her and the company not to do that type of work. The manager has informed Twila of her decision.

After listening to the manager, Twila has reported that in her previous pregnancies while working, she had been transferred to the Laundry Department where the work is usually a little less physically demanding. The department manager stated that her decision was based on employment possibilities at the time and that this was her final decision.
