The result is the need to design and construct a new warehouse distribution facility. The facility will need to handle products in the following categories; frozen, chilled, dry goods and some high value organic products. Inbound supplier shipments are received in case quantities and full pallet quantities. Outbound orders can vary in size and quantity depending an the customer segment outlined above. Total number of items (SKUS) is anticipated to be over 12,000 with new program additions being added on a monthly basis. From an ABC item classification perspective, 75% of the items are dassified today as "C" items. Achieving the most efficient, effective and safe facility operation is a key objective. Using the objectives of a good warehouse facility layout, following the principles of FAST design and considering the elements covered in the course content, draft a warehouse layout design that incorporates the concepts and best practices discussed. O Ensure that your facility layout design addresses the following elements: Location of receiving and shipping functions. Putaway operations requirements Storage location and design features Material handling equipment selection and integration to the layout design Specific storage location for frozen storage, buik dry good storage, high value item storage. Pick and pack function location Consider impact of multi-channel distribution Product returns o Layouts must include clear readable labels for each functional warehouse area and operation. o Layout must show visually the flow of inbound, outbound and internal warehouse functions.
