Airlines are facing challenges. At the height of the pandemic, there was a dramatic decrease in travel and many struggled to avoid bankruptcy. Several airlines were forced to furlough (mandatory unpaid time away from work, or a temporary layoff) employees unless they received more federal aid.

What do you think are the advantages and the drawbacks of the federal government bailing out industries like the airline industry?
