Enterprise has a clear set of values that it proports to strongly hold to its employees. They list those values as: Honesty, Service, Fun, Hard Work, Listening, Community, and Inclusion. They then top off the advertisement with the tagline, "We value what you value." Taking them at their word, they're trying to project themselves as not only a trustworthy service provider, but a firm that also strives to pursue as high an ethical standard as possible. We'll see if that is in fact the case.

Their rental site, the official homepage of the firm's services, is already a good indicator of how they prefer to conduct their business and treat their customers. While it's still possible to manually call them and contract with them to rent a vehicle, their website is designed to be exceptionally user friendly, easy to navigate, and provide transparency on how much their rental services are going to cost depending on the offers available in your price range. Not only do they offer car rentals and reservations, they also offer travel planning services, truck rentals, car sales, and many other features that might otherwise not be offered at other car rental companies.

The meat of our search is discovered on their holdings website, however. The firm has conveniently created a search bar on the top right corner of the site, whereby searching the term "ethics" yields the company's compliance and ethics page. Under the link for their "Our Founding Values" page, they succinctly describe that their mission and goal is to strive for and provide the world's best and most trustworthy mobility service, and it lists a quote from their Founder, Jack Taylor, "Take care of customers and employees first, and the rest will follow." The firm has a code of conduct, but not necessarily a code of ethics. It's apparent that the Code of Conduct also serves as the firm's employee handbook. Admittedly, while normally a code of ethics is more broad than a code of conduct, Enterprise seems to cover quite a bit in regards to ensuring its employees act ethically and legally while on the job. Their code of ethics not only makes a point to be meticulous in following regular modern day office conduct, but also encourages employees to report one another if they witness illegal or inappropriate behavior being done. For the reporter's convenience, an anonymous hotline is set up for both online reporting and tele-reporting, and the hotline is available 24 hrs a day, all year long.

In terms of liability, Enterprise seems to have all of its ducks in a row. But how well does it perform in its policy's execution? According to Glassdoor.com and Indeed.com, 65% of respondents claim that Enterprise is a great place to work, and most complaints that I personally found were regarding long work hours and intense daily duties. This is perfectly normal, and speaks to the firm's credit in maintaining a good ethical standing among its workers and customers. Based off of everything I've gathered, I can say with confidence that Enterprise Rent-A-Car's various lists of proper corporate conduct does translate well into a conforming code of ethics.
