The Malaysian government's action to extradite a North Korean to the United States recently, has raised concerns over national security. The Korean national, Mun Chol-myong, is wanted by President Joe Biden's administration, on charges of money laundering. In addition, he was also accused of being involved in a conspiracy to supply illicit luxury goods from Singapore to North Korea.

The extradition was carried out after a panel of the Federal Court of Malaysia rejected the appeal submitted by the accused. The decision prompted the North Korean Foreign Ministry to announce a decision to sever diplomatic ties with Malaysia. They consider the actions taken by Malaysia to be `an unforgivable crime and Malaysia must bear the consequences.'

The statement issued by the ministry sparked new polemics in international relations between the two countries. In fact, it is not an exaggeration to say that the Malaysian government must always be vigilant and prepared for all the possibilities that will occur, including the response from North Korea.
