A. Fifty-four percent of women responding to a recent Gallup poll said they do not think that women have equal employment opportunities with men. Forty-one percent thought they did have equal opportunities, and five percent had no opinion.

Perception of bias depends strongly on whether one has actually been in the labour force

or not. Among those women who have been working, 65% thought women's opportunities were not equal to men's, but this opinion was shared by only 32% of women who had never been formally employed.

The survey, conducted by interview, has a margin of error of 5%.
