Read the following research scenario and answer the questions that follow

John is a HR manager wanting to understand the effectiveness of different staff training activities.To do this he's going to avoid inconveniencing staff by looking at the performance records of staff who have completed different training programs. He can classify staff into those who done no extra training, those who have completed an online training module, those who have participated in a head office training seminar or those who have participated in a leadership training course offered at the local technical college. He can measure performance using regular supervisor ratings which are summarized a single measure from 1 indicating very poor performance to 10 for outstanding performance. As HR manager he can easily access the records without asking the staff.
