Sexual Harassment Scenarios Is It or Isn't It? Scenario #1 Two co-workers- Bonnie and Clyde- have been flirting back and forth for several months. One afternoon Clyde goes into Bonnie's office and tells her a very crude and sexually explicit joke. Bonnie is very offended and embarrassed and asks Clyde to leave her office which he does. Is this actionable sexual harassment? Scenario #2 During the first two months of Sarah's new job in a predominantly male workplace, Sarah joined in with the boys by telling dirty jokes and using vulgar language. At some point, she stopped and then filed a complaint with the EEOC 3 months later. Will she be successful with a claim of sexual harassment? Scenario #3 Lily is very curvaceous and often wears low-cut blouses and short skirts. Her boss makes several sexual advances which she rebuffs. One evening he sexually assaults her in his office.
