Those selected were offered a $100 Dan Murphy's gift card for participating in the survey. As such, all 1000 selected customers agreed to participate in the survey. The survey asked participants to keep their receipts from all liquor store purchases for a one-month period. They found that the average Australian household spends just under $130 a month on alcohol.
