Read the policy paper titled "I, Mechanical Pencil: Why a socialist economy can never work" 1 from The Centre for Independent Studies. You must include a brief summary of the article and then an argument either supporting or refuting it. To produce a decent response, I expect at least one double spaced full page (though you may choose to go longer since this paper is significantly longer than the other articles in the course). You must also relate your response to course content in a specific way. Some questions to keep in mind are the following (these do not necessarily have to be addressed, but they are intended to help focus and streamline your response):

How is the price system of capitalism superior to the price control system of socialism?

What role does government still play to ensure a well-functioning capitalist system?
