Recently, the 1st Amendment has been in the news as District Attorney Fani Willis of Fulton County, Georgia is currently prosecuting hip hop artist Young Thug and other known associates based on alleged crimes committed. A major part of the evidence for the indictment was rap lyrics that DA Willis claims accurately depicts crimes committed.

Some have argued that it's a violation of the 1st Amendment to use art in an indictment and that it could open the floodgates for more prosecutions based on the interpretation of art. Many in the legal field are worried that this conviction could set a legal precedent that could have a negative domino effect in the judicial system.
