Recode permanent/temporary work status (PERMTEMP) into a variable that indicates whether the respondent has a permanent job or a temporary job. Call this variable PERMTEMP2 and code the categories as Permanent or Temporary. (Using the R Studio Application)

PERMTEMP Permanent or temporary Job permanency

1 = Permanent

2 = Temporary, seasonal job

3 = Temporary, term or contract job

4 = Temporary, casual or other temporary job
