Redbud, Inc., finishes construction of an office building in July $2022.$ It plans to lease the third floor of the building to a tenant. In January $2023,$ Crimson Enterprises leases the third floor and immediately builds out the rental space to meet its needs. It spends $$50,000$ on cubicles, shelving, and other nonpermanent additions. These improvements are qualified improvement property and will be recovered over $15$ years using the halfyear convention and straight$-$line method.
