  1. Seek an opportunity within your organisation for your team to undertake a task for this assessment. Ensure that the task your team will undertake can be completed within the period of your assessment.

    1. Workplace documents that include information on your organisation's business objectives
    2. Workplace documents related to your team's task that includes information about the task objectives

  • Project Plans
  • Policies and procedures
  1. Identify the following from the documents accessed:
    1. At least two task objectives

Task objectives refer to what the team must aim to achieve to be able to say that they completed the task. Refer to the workplace documents related to your team's task.

  1. At least two organisational objectives relevant to the task
  2. Access theTeam Performance Plan provided within this document. Record the following in theTeam Performance Plan:
    1. At least one task the team will undertake
    2. At least two task objectives
    3. At least two organisational objectives relevant to the task
  3. Arrange a meeting with your team members. Ensure that your team has at least two team members.
  4. Locate theObservation Form provided within this workbook. TheObservation Form outlines all the skills you need to demonstrate in this task. Provide your assessor with a copy of theObservation Form.

Your assessor will complete theObservation Form.

  1. Conduct the team meeting:
    1. Discuss the following that you have identified:
      • At least one team task
      • At least two task objectives
      • At least two organisational objectives relevant to the task
    2. Identify the team's purpose for conducting the task

Purpose refers to why the team must conduct the task identified. Purpose identified must correspond with the task's objectives.

  1. Identify at least one SMART team goal.

Goal refers to a general objective that the team aims to achieve by the end of the task (e.g., increase company profits).

SMART is the criteria that ensures that goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound.

  1. Identify at least one expected outcome related to the task for the whole team.

Expected outcomes are the specific, quantifiable outcomes that the team hopes to achieve by the end of the task (e.g., 'increase company profit by 50% by the last quarter')

  • Individual roles within the organisation

Identify at least one role of each team member.

Role refers to the short description of what each team member does within the organisation (e.g., fitness trainer)

  • At least one responsibility for each team member

Responsibility refers to the individual tasks assigned to each member related to the team's task.

  • At least one SMART goal
  • At least one expected outcome
    1. Encourage your team member's understanding of their parts
