Referring to the article below, given your interest in continuing contributing to SCM, would you see yourself in a research-based university instead of teaching undergraduates? Do you aspire to research and publish your work after you graduate? Then use your project as fodder for your first articles, yes?

The discussion describes a vision of myself as a doctoral-level practitioner in the field of supply chain management 5-10 years from now and the key success factors. The vision in 5 to 10 years is "to expand learning and construction of new knowledge through research, align the academic and professional knowledge and provide the up to date knowledge that will assist the students in pursuing their interest in the field of supply chain management (SCM) and the related fields."

Expanding the learning and the construction of the new knowledge will primarily be achieved through continuous education through various strategies such as professional certifications, undertaking new courses, and attending symposiums and conferences. Also, the research using quantitative and qualitative designs will assist in discovering new knowledge. During the teaching, the knowledge gained in the classroom will be aligned with the current required professional knowledge to ensure that the knowledge gained in the classroom is applied in the professional field. The alignment of the knowledge with the supply chain management field professional requirements, various strategies such as simulations, interactive learning, and case studies, among others, will be used. To ensure the students have up-to-date knowledge, I will provide the up to date sources of the information, using various sources such as journals, corporate websites, books, and documentaries. Also, the assessment will test the students' understanding of the current and future knowledge in SCM and related fields.

The key success factors in achieving this vision include professional activities and opportunities, collaboration, and the availability of numerous research sources. The professional activities and opportunities include opportunities for continuous education, mentorship, and research activities (van Rooij et al., 2019). Collaboration means partnership with other doctoral students and colleagues who will assist in discovering new knowledge. The availability of high-quality research sources, primarily peer-reviewed journals and corporate websites, will assist me in continuously learning the new knowledge requirements in the field of supply chain management.
