Referring to the Catta Verdera drawings, determine the amount of lumber (LF), plywood (sheet), and hardware (ea) required in the Catta Verdera gatehouse. Start your take-off with a shopping list and make sure you have accounted for all the elements and components in the frame, then develop the spreadsheet for your work. Segregate the components logically. For example, you should segregate walls and the roof structure; one approaches the construction of them in different ways and under different circumstances (worker access and the stick built nature of the roof being the principal characteristics that separate it from the walls). Use good estimating practices including a good audit trail. A good takeoff will include the following elements:

1. A nicely organized table formatted for the final display of the material quantities.

1b. Your table should include proper nomenclature for each material based on the drawings

2. Any calculations, highlighted drawings, and backup material to justify your quantities

3. Any sketches or diagrams used to help in determination of quantities
