Assessment Type Essay This assignment assesses students' ability to reflect on the preparation, processes, Purpose strategies, and outcomes of the group negotiation undertaken in Week 10. It requires linking your practical experiences from that negotiation to the concepts, theories, and readings introduced throughout the course. You will write an individual reflective essay on your experiences from doing the group Enterprise Bargaining negotiation in our Week 10 class. Your essay should reflect on the preparations undertaken, the strategies developed in advance (and how useful these ultimately proved to be), the critical incidents from the negotiation, and any other aspects or observations that were relevant to the eventual outcomes achieved. Description You must link what happened in your negotiation to the literature (i.e., key concepts, theories, and evidence), so that you can explain and interpret your own experiences, rather than just describing what you saw. The task here is not merely to "tell the story" of how your negotiation played out, but to critically reflect on your experiences, using the literature to "make sense" of what happened, develop your own learning and skills, and, ultimately, make informed conclusions about the practicalities of negotiation as a mechanism of joint action. Detailed guidelines on how to approach this reflective assignment are provided below. Weighting 40% Length 2500 words (+/-10%)Some suggested questions and issues to reflect on in your essay follow. Were there any notable differences in the group dynamics/expectations in relation to the theories of negotiation and what actually happened in your negotiation and its outcomes? . What were the critical incidents - and why were these critical? . What would you do differently if you could do this negotiation over again?! . How did you approach the negotiation? What did you hope or intend to get out of it? What strategy did you adopt and what outcomes were you aiming for, individually and as a group? 2.
