Reflective paper

Identify and analyze a situation of which you are aware (preferably, observed directly, or read about) that illustrates the perverse (i.e. negative) effect of incentives. Consider what went wrong and propose an alternative that might have yielded a better outcome.

To effectively analysis will:

(1) specifically, and carefully describe the situation by identifying the type of incentives used and the negative effect of the incentives,

(2) analyze what went wrong by providing reasons,

(3) propose an alternative (a different form of incentive or a different incentive structure) that could have prevented or mitigated this negative effect.
