Underline the relative pronoun or relative adverb. Add the connecting word back in if it has been omitted from the sentence, underlined and stricken through (like this).

Determine if it is a relative pronoun or relative adverb, giving a reason.

Rewrite the relative clause as an independent clause with the antecedent in its proper place. Bold that antecedent.

1. The COVID-19 pandemic, which lately has been slowed by vaccine campaigns but not completely stopped, dealt a damaging blow to the Canadian economy.
2. The economy is starting to recover at a time when people need it the most.
3. The boom economists predicted is starting to create jobs at all levels.
