Label pertinent structures. Botanical drawing is about learning to really see the details of a specimen. If you draw a specimen, you spend time with it and develop a better feel for the critical features. Procedure 1. Examine Parenchyma. 1. Obtain a prepared slide of Helianthus (sunflower) stem in cross section (x.s.) and longitudinal section (I.s.). 2. Draw and label pertinent cells and tissues in the space below.
