I believe the linear correlation coefficient would be around r = 0.7... if computed through Excel or StatCrunch. Although, you did come to the same conclusion that I did on the relationship between weight and length. I would say that there is a moderate correlation between the two variables, but it may not necessarily indicate a causation If we view causation as a relationship in which any change to the explanatory variable also effects the response variable. If a change were to occur with the explanatory variable (length) we can't be 100% sure if that will also change the response variable (weight). Not every bear of the same length will even weigh the same, some bears of the same length might be thinner or heavier due to poor diet or genetic defects or age. Maybe some bears might also grow taller and still weigh the same as they did
