media in their perspective. Several studies have depicted many folds of social media. In

general, the term social media is defined as the interaction of people, individually or in

groups$$ resulting in sharing of ideas, thoughts, creating information and communication

on virtual platforms through different networks and communities. According to Kaplan

and Haenlein $(2010),$ social media is defined as a collection of the applications which

are based on internet and formed on the foundations of technological and ideological

platforms that permits the creation, transformation and exchange of the content

generated by the user of those platforms. According to studies and work by Kietzmann

et al $(2011),$ Social Media are eminently and exceedingly interactive platforms, which

apply and engage the mobile devices and other web based technologies to facilitate

individuals, groups and communities in developing, co$-$creating, sharing, transform and

discuss the content produced by the user.

Social media is used for many purposes; everyone has its point of utilizing the social

media. It has been observed that many people use this platform for leisure, some use it

as a source of entertainment, and others use it as a means of communication. Among

them, there are some people and some entities who utilize the social media platform for

organizational use and their business purposes.

Leonardi, Huysman, & Steinfield $(2013)$ have stated in the organizational perspective

that Social media provide the platform that are web based and permits employees to

deliver their message to their colleague and to everyone associated with the

organization. It lessens the communication barrier among the coworkers and alters and

amends the text material they are attached.

Antony Mayfield from iCrossing writes in his eBook $$What is Social Media$$ that

social media is a collection and classes of new and different sort of online media, which

commonly share some characteristics. These characteristics include Connectedness,

Participation, Conversation, Openness and Community $($Mayfield$,2008).$
