The purpose of a marketing plan is to plan out the business's overall performance. It can be used to make sure the organization achieves its objectives in a timely manner. The marketing plan can help to determine what the target is and how to reach it the most effectively. It can also help strategize how you are going to promote the products or services of your company.
A Market plan should include all of the following items:
Target Market
Unique Selling Proposition
Situation Analysis
Objectives
Strategies
Budget
Timing
The CMO (chief marketing officer) is the one who is typically responsible for developing the marketing plan for the company. The CMO has assistance from different marketing officers to help with strategizing and planning of the marketing plan. There are others that can play a part in it too. Like different members of management. However, the top management of the business will have the final say and approval of the marketing plan. Only some departments within the organization should have access to the marketing plan. This should include, management from different departments within the organization. Such as sales, upper management, marketing, and operations.
