1.) The one brand that I was surprised to see at a lower rank was McDonalds. This fast-food chain has been around for years, and seemingly, there's one every 15 miles anywhere you go. I was also surprised to see that Disney was at a lower ranking, because whether it's their television channel or their amusement parks, there is always kids and families who want to experience the Disney Magic. I view Disney as an anchor for the state of Florida because it brings in tourists and revenue daily, so to see it not be at least top 3 in the ranks was a bit shocking considering how large to company is. Another brand I was shocked to see was Coca-Cola, because I personally didn't think it would be as high as it was. I understand that Coke is a huge company, but I simply didn't realize that they were the largest in the early 2000's.

2.) I was shocked to see that Coca-Cola was still dominating the market in the early 2010's, because I surely believed that another brand would come and take the spot. A brand that I enjoyed seeing rise up was Apple, although I am surprised that they were 5th overall but I suppose it makes sense because they were not nearly as large as they are now. Another thing that shocked me about the early 2010's ranking is that Disney has continued to drop in ranking. As I mentioned previously, I believed that Disney was one of the bigger businesses and were extremely popular among children and families. Additionally, Disney is in multiple market such as television and amusement parks, so to watch them continuously fall was a bit shocking.

3.) I found the 2022 ranking to be the most interesting as its the closest to being up to date. Apple dominating the market does not surprise me at all, especially when you think about all of the products they make and how many people you see daily using their products. I also found Amazon being second overall to be interesting, because they have become extremely relevant in recent years. I found Tesla's rise in recent years to be interesting as well, because they have become a brand to watch. They make reliable products that are trying to shift the market from gasoline vehicles to electric which would be more environmentally friendly. Overall, I think this ranking is extremely accurate because the top 5 brands are the ones that I see constantly.

4. Apple is an important brand to me because I used my iPad, iPhone, AirPods and other various products daily in order to complete schoolwork and remain in touch with friends and family. I find that their products help me remain motivated and connected. Target is an important brand for me because this is essentially where I complete my shopping. Whether its groceries, health items, or even clothing, Target has everything I need. Barnes & Noble is another important brand because in my free time, I am always reading a book. I find a lot of my books from Barnes & Noble, as well as other items from the store that I enjoy. HBO Max is my preferred streaming service, I watch it every night before bed. They have some of my favorite movies and series, making it an important part of my daily routine. Lastly, Amazon is an important brand for me. I purchased a Kindle so that I could read eBooks and I also pay for Kindle Unlimited through Amazon which gives me a variety of books to choose from.

  1. As I watched the video, I saw that Coca-Cola, at a certain point, declined and stayed stagnant. Over the years, Coca-Cola has been rising and becoming known, making consumer sales. However, in the late 2001's, it started declining tremendously. How was this possible? I believe this decline was caused by the tragic events of September 11. This made various people wary of going out or probably going out shopping. I thought Microsoft was going to surpass Coca-Cola. Even though it was very close, it did not move. What helped Coca-Cola stay top 15 Global Brands Ranking was that they contributed as sponsors in the FIFA World Cup and joined to fight against AIDS in Africa with the joint United Nations Programs.
  2. How Apple, in just two years, surpasses every brand that has been in the industry for years. Google was going up starting in 2006; however, it still did not manage to become the first brand in the ranking, not even after three years of being out with items. Google was going higher in rank throughout the three years, but it was never as fast as Apple. Within just two years of producing and selling products to customers, Apple became the third in the rank. As the video has shown us, that was faster than any other company in the previous years. Apple quickly surpassed Google and Coca-Cola due to the innovative products it sold and advertised to consumers. This was life-changing to people seeing how they made a more prominent music player and different types of phones. They were touch screens with a different kind of technology that many people were hooked on. As they came out with more evolved devices, more people would buy and couldn't wait to buy them.
  3. Surprisingly, after years have passed, Apple has not slowed down or has been second place since it first became the number one brand. Google tried to keep up with them, and they could not catch on to Apple. They have been unable to catch, and Amazon has even passed them by a couple of millions. This was definitely shocking. I would have assumed Google would be competing for the first stop and advertise their products a lot more or come out with items that Apple has not come out with. In addition, it was unexcepted when Microsoft also passed Google. Many companies use Microsoft, and students also use it for several assignments or emails. This contributed to the higher rank of Microsoft because if students or companies are not using this will make the company rank lower.
  4. My five favorite brands of mine are Apple, Netflix, Max (Previously known as HBO), American Eagle Outfitters, and Spotify. Apple is one of my favorite brands due to the innovative technologic devices they provide us with, their phones have amazing quality when taking pictures, and the iPad is beneficial; even though they are similar to phones, they can also be used like a computer once you buy their keyboard. Netflix is a streaming service that lets you see movies and shows that have aired before, or they come out with new movies or series that are very interesting as well as MAX, which is a video-on-demand streaming service just like Netflix that offers customers to subscribe to their services to watch shows or movies. Many of the series they stream are originals, and my favorite is Euphoria. You have probably heard of it. American Eagle Outfitters is a preferred clothing brand of mine; their jeans are amazing! Their outfits are cute and not too expensive. Spotify is the app I use the most throughout my days when I am working or driving in the car. This is the perfect brand. Not only can you listen to music, but you can listen to podcasts.
