(Bateman et al., 2022) Summary: In Shabnam Priyadarshini's journal "its nice to be at work: role of interpersonal skills for career success" (Priyadarshini, 2022), she speaks about the importance of interpersonal skills and how this can take you further in your career. Shabnam is based in Hyderabad, India and works with the Department of Organizational Behavior and Human Resources, Institute of Management. It is explained in this journal that successful management skills include conceptual, technical, and people skills. The focus of this article to highlight that interpersonal skills are the basis of good, worth while management, while technical and conceptual skills are the second in command. While interpersonal skills are rated as very important, good technological skills are also highlighted in this journal specifically, along with technological etiquette. There are also issues with communicating through technology, though, and without verbal queues, tone of voice, etc., it can be very hard to non- emotionally communicate when communicating in this very digital era. Implementing good communication and interpersonal skills both digitally and in person can truly take your business relationships to the next level. Being able to effectively communicate in the workplace also will allow your employees to feel the freedom to ask for company incentives, such as raises and days off, because if you are comfortable and taken care of in your work environment, you are able to freely communicate when you need a day off or when you feel as though you have been working diligently and deserve the recognition for same.
