I am against Obama Care even though I can see the vision that the plan is trying to achieve. My first point is that, though the plan was to make it affordable for everyone, in reality, that is not what is happening. The fact is that the coverage is now available to a wider range of people, so insurance companies increased the premium for people who already had health insurance. In addition, the Obama Care was supposed to be affordable, but nothing is free because as a result of that taxes are increased to subsidize the plan. Another reason I am against Obama Care is that it is very intrusive for the government to put a fine mandate on people for not having health insurance. I believe there are ways the government can help make healthcare more affordable for everyone such as creating a program for low-income households to quality. Finally, the government could negotiate with pharmaceutical companies by putting a price limit or subsidizing rare and expensive drugs to help lower the overall insurance premium like the current Biden administration is doing.
