Good morning, Class. Below you will find how I navigate through unanticipated organization changes within my own personal job working in HR in a Nursing home.

I am comfortable with accepting unanticipated organizational changes. My comfort stems from the understanding that change is a constant and necessary aspect of organizational growth and improvement. By viewing change as an opportunity for development rather than a disruption, I am able to maintain a positive outlook and adapt more readily. Additionally, my commitment to continuous learning and professional growth helps me to be more prepared and resilient in the face of unexpected changes.

Supporting Employees in Adopting New Behaviors Aligned with Organizational Change Efforts

Leaders play a crucial role in supporting employees through organizational changes by clear communication. I Regularly find myself being transparent with communication which helps employees understand the reasons behind the change, its benefits, and how it will affect their roles. This clarity reduces uncertainty and builds trust (Palmer et al., 2022). I have utilized training and development for support. By providing adequate training and resources equips employees with the necessary skills and knowledge to adapt to new processes and behaviors. Ongoing support and access to learning opportunities reinforce their ability to succeed (Kotter, 2012). I also ensure I am someone employees can see as a Role Model. Leaders should exemplify the behaviors and mindset they expect from their employees. Demonstrating commitment to the change and embracing new behaviors themselves can inspire employees to follow suit. As a part of HR, it's important that we have Recognition and Rewards programs. We ensure to acknowledge and reward employees who successfully adapt to, and champion new behaviors can motivate others to do the same. Positive reinforcement reinforces desired behaviors. Additionally, by creating a supportive environment, employees are more responsive and positive.Fostering a culture of open feedback and support helps employees feel valued and heard. This environment encourages them to voice concerns, ask questions, and actively participate in the change process.

Example of Embracing a Growth Mindset in HR Department Organizational Change

In my previous role within the HR department of a nursing home, we faced a significant organizational change when our facility decided to implement a new electronic health record (SBV) system. The new system was intended to improve patient care by streamlining documentation processes and ensuring accurate record-keeping. However, this transition required staff to move away from paper-based methods and adopt new technological skills. To adapt to this change, I embraced a growth mindset by proactively learning. I enrolled in all available training sessions and sought additional resources to thoroughly understand the new SBV system. I also practiced using the system during my free time to build my confidence and proficiency. I also find myself collaborating with colleagues. I actively participated in team discussions and workshops, sharing my insights and learning from others. This collaboration helped me gain different perspectives and find solutions to common challenges we encountered. A team approach has been the best approach I have found thus far. I also like seeking feedback from experienced colleagues. I regularly get feedback from supervisors and colleagues on my usage of the new system. Constructive feedback allowed me to identify areas for improvement and continuously enhance my proficiency. I find that staying positive and resilient are the best way to handle sudden changes or needs within my organization. I maintained a positive attitude, viewing the change as an opportunity for personal and professional growth. When faced with difficulties, I remained resilient, focusing on problem-solving rather than dwelling on setbacks. As a result, I was able to adapt quickly to the new SBV system and even became a resource for colleagues needing assistance. Embracing a growth mindset not only helped me succeed in the transition but also contributed to the overall success of the nursing home in implementing the new system, ultimately enhancing patient care.
