What is a leader? A leader is someone who inspires passion and motivation in followers. A leader is someone with a vision and the path to realizing it. A leader is someone who ensures their team has support and tools to achieve their goals.

There are many unique perspectives of a good leader so I picked the top 5 that I believe are most important. At a young age, we are taught right from wrong and as you grow older it's up to you to make the right decisions. Be yourself, be confident and be the best that you can be.

1: Have faith in your beliefs- When you have faith and confidence and accomplish, others will feel motivated to keep striving.

2: Make the hard choice- Being a leader means leading to success to make the hard choice and self-sacrifice in order to enhance the lives of others around them.

3:Earn the respect- Respect is earned never given. Earning respect is crucial to a successful relationship with someone, while also showing that you care about their work or ideas.

4: Know your team- Knowing thestrengths and weaknesses of every individual to effectively manage the outcome of a team is imperative for success. Leaders havea great vision and use the resources at hand to solve problems.

5: Remember that your team is the key to success- understand that it is the people you lead that ultimately determine the success or failure of any venture. Surround yourself with great people that they can cultivate into a team of competent, confident individuals who can work well as a team.

After taking my self-assessment test, I realized that there are many unique perspectives to being a good leader. Teamwork makes the dream work and everyone apart of the team is just as important as the next individual. Taking initiative is one area I need to work on. I have so many skills, knowledge and experience in my work field, but I'm shy. I like to observe and then show what I can do.
