My temperament was influenced by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. I am naturally introverted and that may have to do with genetics. Research shows that some aspects of temperament may remain relatively stable throughout a person's life due to genetic predispositions. Certain traits, such as introversion or extroversion, emotional reactivity, and sensitivity to stimuli, may have a strong genetic component (Parke et al.,). Genes provide a foundation for temperament, influencing how a child initially reacts to their environment. In my case, both of my parents are introverted. They might have passed that gene down to me. These genetically influenced traits can persist into adulthood, contributing to a stable temperament. However, genetic predispositions can also interact with environmental factors to produce more complex outcomes.

On the other side lies environmental factors that can affect personality types. My temperament was definitelyaffected by the interactions within my family. This is not only in my case. Environmental factors, including parenting styles, cultural influences, life experiences, and social interactions, can also shape a child's temperament over time. As children grow and are exposed to different environments and experiences, their temperament may adapt and change in response to these influences.

The question phrased temperament as either environmentalor genetic. Well I challengeit and ask, why not both? The interaction between genetic and environmental factors is complex, and individual outcomes can vary widely. Some children may have temperaments that remain relatively stable throughout their lives due to strong genetic influences, while others may experience significant changes in their temperament as they adapt to different life circumstances. Also, temperament is not a fixed trait but rather a spectrum of characteristics. In my experience, my temperament has exhibited both continuity and transformation in various aspects, and this is the result of a combination of genetic and environmental factors.
