What Statistics means to me is the collection of data that shows an average of something or someone. For example, we have been in a pandemic for quite some time now. There have been statistics about the virus and the vaccine. The statistics mainly show on average how well you will survive the virus due to health, age, and many other factors. One important statistic that is out there is which vaccine is the most effective. There are three different vaccines that the public has access to and there are many studies out there showing which one is the most effective when protecting you from the Covid virus.
Going along with the Covid Statistics there are several that we use in the health care industry. Like when you go to your primary care doctor and say you are a smoker. The doctor will use statistics to show you on average how long you will live if you keep up with the habit compared to if you were to stop smoking.
Statistics are very important when it comes to all things health. It is an easy way to educate patients on their health. It makes consequences a reality for a lot of patients.
