reply to this post. Athletic administrators are the genesis of all character building within a program. If they do not live what they preach to coaches they lose credibility to their staff. Administrators need to make the character building expectations clear to all members of the staff and then lead by example. It is also their job to correct coaches who are not properly fulfilling this expectation. This can be done in a number of ways, but it starts by being present. The administrator needs to be present for the coach and for the team so that they can better identify exactly where coach is underperforming. Perhaps its the coach's behavior or his method of discipline; regardless, the administrator needs to be present to see where the weakness is and communicate these weaknesses to the coach
