Microsoft, which spent $ 7.6 billion to buy the company. In fact, contrary to what many may think, Microsoft can gain a lot from the business.

To begin with, since the beginning of this year Nokia has started to show positive results again, after a long period of losses. Only in the last fiscal quarter of 2012, closed in January of this year, the company recorded a profit of US $ 585 million, but with a revenue of more than US $ 10 billion.

This discrepancy between the profit and revenue figures was a consequence of the debt accumulated in previous periods by Nokia. In other words, the half billion dollars left over as a profit was a remnant of loss results that the manufacturer was bitter about. Now, however, the company seems to be back on track, but it still isn't nearly what it was in the past, the absolute market leader. So in my opinion it was a good choice at that time.
