REPLY:I believe that GOOD leaders come from all backgrounds and experience levels. Industry experience can be a great thing, but it can also be a hinderance. For example, if a potential employee comes from a company who holds the same or similar position for which you are hiring, they may have different experience or a different processes than your company. It might be easier to train someone in the way that your company operates, than to retrain someone who has done the same position in a different way. Successful management qualities would include the willingness to learn, and the willingness to promote, encourage, and follow company standards. Another quality that would be important in a leader would be consistency. Making sure they are consistently following rules, consistently treating others the same, and consistently being great leaders to the team
