Report: Regional vs. National Housing Price Comparison Amber Hammond Southern New Hampshire University Introduction Region: North Central Purpose: This report will determine if houses in my market region are higher than the national average. I will also determine if the square footage in my homes in my chosen region West North Central is different than the National average in the market. I used a "statistical approach" in my data review and analysis. Sample: My sample is random. I am researching the data on the house price (listing price) and the average square footage for West North Central. Questions and type of test: Using my random sample I determined the square footage for a home in my region West North Central is different than the national average. Housing prices in my region Northwest Central are higher than the national average. [First hypothesis: The parameter of the population is the average dollars per square foot on the national data which is $289,407. Null Hypotheses is $289,407. An alternative hypothesis is also 289,407. The significance level determined is less than five percent risk which also determined that in my chosen area the housing prices are higher than the national average noted in the graphs. The data is evenly spread out. The shape is relatively symmetrical and is distributed normal. Level of confidence: My level of confidence is strong in my analysis and data.
