Request forms for new standard room keys are submitted via email by individuals and departments ("customers") to a building coordinator on a daily basisTo minimize disruptions to their other duties, the coordinator only reviews these forms on Friday afternoons. It takes about 5.3 minutes per request form to review, transcribe & add additional info into the facility services information system (FAMIS), approve and then forward to Facilities Services. On average, 5 requests arrive per week.The form must reviewed & approved (in FAMIS) by an area manager, and then the head of facility services. The reviews take on average 1.5 minutes. Requests sit in the system an average of 8.4 days for each review.The key shop is then notified of the approved request. Typically it waits there 2.5 days before the job is opened (the shop handles all campus key requests). Making the key takes 8 minutes. At the end of each day, all new keys are brought to the front desk, where a staff member than sends an email (1 minute) to the customer to pick up there key.Key blanks are purchased quarterly from a supplier.The customer takes on average 3 days to get over to facilities services to pick up the key. "Checkout" time for the key (checking id, getting customer signature) takes 5 minutes.Sketch out a basic VSM diagram documenting this situation.
