Is the provided answer correct, and what improvements can be made to the provided detailed explanation / analysis for the answer (please provide substantive responses)?

How would you treat the effect of gender (male/female) as a variable that may explain salary in the regression analysis?

ANSWER: In this case we need to use gender as the independent variable, as it has only two possible outcomes and both of them are only categories, this is a binomial variable with the categorical scale, so for further use it in regression model we may decide to mark either male as 1 and not male as 0 or female as 1 and not female as 0, just for calculating the regression equation. This will help us to give the impact of category on the salary as the dependent variable.
