In the prediction equation Y= 36+6X, identify the Y intercept and the slope

ANSWER: The Prediction equation is given by Y=a+b*X, this gives when value of X is zero, Y = a; therefore the value of a is nothing but the Y-intercept, the coefficient b is called as regression coefficient, considering the regression equation we could see that increase in one unit of X will increase the value of Y by b units, therefore this constant is known as slope. Thus in the given prediction equation Y intercept is 36 and the slope is 6.
