However, given that Tara was a highly sought after lawyer, when commencing her employment, she was able to negotiate a term in her contract that allowed her to work from home for 3 days a week. In early January 2020, Taras employer agreed to give her a lump sum of $60,000 in exchange for this work from home clause removed out of her employment contract. However as it turned out, from March 2020 all employees were allowed to work from home due to the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tara takes the $60,000 and invests it in a 10 year annuity that pays her $6600 a year.
