Instructions: Read the following facts and answer the questions below applying concepts from chapters 9 and 10.

Rob entered a bank, displayed a firearm, and ordered all the tellers to take him to the vault so he could get the money in the vault. He told them that if any of them gave him any trouble he would hurt them. He ordered them inside the vault with him, and once inside the vault he ordered the teller, Mary, to put the money from the vault into the bag. Mary faltered and he smacked her in the face with the gun in his hand. He splits her lip badly, and tells her to hurry or he would hit her again. He tied the other tellers up with zip ties, and when he had the money he handcuffed Mary to a table in the vault.

On the way out of the bank, he sees a customer in the lobby on her phone. Afraid she was calling the police Rob grabs the customer, Silvia, who is a 16-year-old high school student. He forces her outside and tells her to take him to her car, where he forces her into the car to drive him away from the bank. As Silvia is pulling out of the parking lot she hits an elderly man and kills him. Rob tells her to keep on driving and if she does not do as he says he will kill her. He directs her to drive into the mountains and down a secluded dirt road. Once off the main road, he pushes her out of the car and leaves. She walks to the main road where a motorist stops to assist her and they contact the police. Rob is stopped in Silvias car and arrested.
