Research a controversial event or legal case raising issues of media ethics or media law from the last ten years. "Specific media ethics or law issue" should be interpreted broadly. You may select from any number of topic areas including libel law, digital surveillance and/or the impact of digital media on privacy, the relationship between the press and government institutions, meme culture, "cancel' culture, fake news, news criticism, journalistic practice, as well as any other deemed sufficiently impactful. 

 

Explain why the proposed case or topic is worthy of study, and presenting a brief introduction of the relevant background/controversies associated with it.
