RESEARCH PAPER PROPOSAL GUIDELINES

Write a paper proposal that informs the topic DEPRESSION. The proposal will be a minimum of two pages long and will be comprised of several different parts.

The proposal must include:

1. Introduction to the topic of the proposal (Each paragraph should include the answers and information for a, b, and c or a and b below each paragraph)

a) What do you want to write about? Include your thesis statement.

b) Brief history on the topic

c) Definition of words or terms that will use in the paper

2. Explanation of the significance and a statement of goals

a) Why is this topic important to write about?

b) What will be accomplish by completing this research?

3. 1-3 Research questions

a) What are you trying to learn or prove or argue?

b) Three research questions

4. Statement of Intended Audience

a) Who is this research for?

b) How will the audience influence your research and or writing?

5. Description of Methodology

a) How are you going to complete this research?

b) What sources or types of sources will you use?

c) What terms can you use to conduct searches?

Each of these sections should be a minimum of a paragraph long. Use this assignment to really begin to think about what you will be writing about in your research paper.
