- Dress Code: Evaluate the dress code policy and procedures for your current workplace or one organization with which you are familiar. Discuss areas for improvement based on narrative in the HRM Applications textbook and the PHR/SPHR textbook. Explain how the dress code is currently monitored and enforced and make recommendations for how the dress code should be monitored and enforced to ensure consistency.
I am an administrative assistant for a very successful insurance agent. The dress code at my current organization is business casual and employees must maintain a clean appearance with good hygiene. The men and women within all positions all have the same dress code. What I think needs improved are leggings. I am not allowed to wear yoga pants, which I absolutely love to wear. I think there are good and bad ways to wear yoga pants. I think that yoga pants can be appropriate attire when wearing nice dress shirts and some nice dress shoes. I think that within my work environment, yoga pants should not be worn with tennis shoes and hoodies. I understand why we have a business casual dress code as everyone in my office seats clients almost every single day.

- I think that George Baker should propose employee absenteeism, operating with reducing workload, communications throughout all departments with employees and customers, back-up electricity, and maximum hours that an employee is allowed to work during a disaster. All of these needs to be addressed because it is important information to know when operating a business through a disaster.
- I think that Winston Hotels has to mainly worry about hurricanes. While flooding happens on the coast, central Florida may flood as well if the hurricane is on the right path, strong enough, and big enough. Disasters that will most likely occur in Northeast Ohio would be snowstorms during winter, tornadoes, and flooding from thunderstorms. In January of 2019, a small EF1 tornado was in my neighborhood. My neighbor's boat got flipped over. Multiple neighbors had their garage doors fly off and had their shingles fly off. Fortunately, my property did not have severe damage. However, our trampoline did end up in the trees and we could not leave our neighborhood because the only road leading to the main road had trees and wires down on it. The tornado was unexpected and cut everyone off guard. The siren for it actually went off after it passed my area, so we had no warning.
- I honestly do not know if my business has a disaster plan in place. My organization is a small family-owned business with only a few employees. I just started my job a couple of months ago but I was told however that sometimes during the winter they will text us in the morning if the roads are covered in heavy with snow. They do this, so we do not have to risk our safety and drive on them. I think closing the office during a bad snowstorm is adequate and a nice thing that my employer does. I do think they should think about what they would do if there are a tornado warning and some other severe weather. There is a basement in the building, so I would recommend we go in it if there is a tornado warning. While the basement has other offices for other businesses, I am sure they wouldnt mind if we came down. I am also sure we will not mind if there is ever a bad flood and they would want to not be in the basement.

- Houghton Refrigeration Company definitely needs to change its on-the-job training program. The employees received little training. Supervisors such as Joe Gleason do not help the employees who are new. Instead, he belittles them and calls them names. This is not leadership. The employees need to be trained right and the company should do something about Joes behavior to new hires.
- The company should install an employee orientation program for new factory workers. This will help new hires become more oriented with the company and the companys policies.
- Training should be done by a person who is knowledgeable in the field, has the skills, and support the new hire instead of belittling them.
- There should be a dress code policy. Employees should wear the appropriate attire for the correct job. Managers need to think about all the risks that can happen within a job and find ways to help minimize the risk. When a company does this, it can reduce the number of accidents.
