1. The Nutrition Source and MyPlate.gov are appropriate sources for an academic essay. The Nutrition Source is a website hosting up to date and accurate information about nutrition. It is affiliated with Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. The information appears to unbiased and relevant to the topic of patient nutrition. This would be a great academic source for data regarding nutrition to include in an academic paper. MyPlate.gov is another great source to use for an academic paper. It is a government hosted website published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. It includes tools for building a healthy diet, such as serving size suggestions and healthy recipes. The website provides specific information that is geared towards the reader's specific health concerns and dietary needs. This would be a great website to provide to patients who are looking for tools to eat healthier as well as a great source for a research paper. Natural Health News and Science is an inappropriate source for an academic paper. Although the articles are current, they contain political and religious bias and much of the information is not relevant to the topic of nutrition. It also contains many spelling and grammar errors, which shows a lack of credibility and peer review on the website. The information can not be verified during further research. All in all, this source would be very inappropriate as an academic source. Nutritional Data: Know What You Eat appears to be a very useful website for the general public to obtain information about nutrition. However, after looking deeper into the publishers, we learned that the website is hosted by Self Magazine. Self Magazine is a women's health magazine and there is some bias that we can see from investigating their website. Also, the intended audience for this publisher is women, while the intended audience for the academic paper would be more broad. In general, we found that this website would be helpful for the general public to learn about nutrition, but it is not the most appropriate source for an academic paper.

We would recommend the website, "The Nutrition Source" for an academic essay because the source seems to be accurate. On the website there is a lot of information regarding the faculty, editors, and company. It states the mission and purpose of the page. The page has relevant information regarding the subjects needs. The links are useable with important information such as recipes, brochures, and information on the effects of your diet. We would also recommend the website " MyPlate" because is based through the US Department of Agriculture. It provides many tips on making small changes to your diet. The information is very relevant as it uses TheUSDA Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion (CNPP)that was established in 1994. My plate emphasis on the dietary guidelines for Americans. They also use an advisory committee, which ensures compliance with Federal Advisory committee. It also states that the drafts go through rounds of review and revisions of the federal government and all agencies such as NIH, FDA, CDC, ARS, FNS, and FSIS.

We would not recommend the website "Nutritional Data: Know What Your Eat" It seems that the link is not fully working 100%. The website hasn't been updated since May 25, 2018. The website has a lot of click bait. We would also not recommend the website, "Natural Health News and Science". It contains a lot of Ads as well as clickbait. There is hardly any relevant information regarding dietary needs. The pop ups seem like a security problem.
