respond to my classmate Endia's discussion post: The way an employer can make an employee feel a part of the team can be looked at multiple ways, In my last occupation as a supervisor I would give out projects for the administrators on the floor to do a presentation in order to teach their other fellow members as well as managers on how a new process was supposed to flow, this helped with their growth opportunities by giving them a task that no one else knew , which created a learning and growth opportunity for that individual. Once it was time to present this created an open communication where the team was involved due to it being one of their peers that was presenting instead of a manager or supervisor. Once The administrators were accustomed of presenting and learning the new sop's and flow of the system, this helped me on transitioning them to train new employees that was brought onto the team. New employees were ecstatic that the administrators on the floor were training them which makes them feel more at ease and calm instead of a supervisor or manager training them due to sometimes feeling nervous around higher roles, By having the administrator training the employees, they are able to have a more one on one training and fully give their undivided attention to the new employees to help with their first few weeks. The approaches should differ because employees who have already been working with the company need recognition and want their voice and work to be seen. New employees on the other hand just want the proper guidance for them to succeed in their occupation.
