The first step is to identify if the current project manager has a project charter in place to act as a point of reference. If not, I must identify the project's objectives, key stakeholders, scheduling, and budget. Then set up a meeting with stakeholders involved in the project to set up an open communication channel, authority, assignment of tasks, and check system. Being able to identify and collect important data in regards to the project's current status will need to be documented for future reference. Choice in communication along with frequency should be immediately implemented, making it easier to monitor the project's status. Jaeger (2020) goes over how stakeholders may be able to provide insight into the situation at hand, so managers must promote open communication.

An analysis of the current situation that plagues the project must be done to understand why it is in disarray when it has only been the second month. highlights the importance of strategic influences on firms' management of innovation portfolios. Love, Roper, and Vahter (2020) state how "the potential value of linking decisions to abandon innovations to firms' innovative strategy and innovation objectives and their operating context" (p. 21). Hopefully, there would be an established work breakdown structure (WBS) that will provide visual aids in the organization of tasks, progress status, and understanding where the problems are originating. Risk management is something that must be implemented and effective to stop or temporarily give managers time to solution to resolve current issues that plague the project.
