A. My students created a survey which they personally handed to their respondents. These are the results of two students.
1. A student was trying to determine the average property value in a particular neighborhood. The survey asked randomly chosen respondents about their age, property value, and other personal information. No surveys were returned to the student.
2. A student was trying to determine her customer's satisfaction with sales and service. A survey asked her customers how satisfied they were with their capital equipment purchase and after-sales service. All the surveys were returned to the student.
Why was there such a disparity in respondent participation?
